The Union of Arab Students in Europe meets the Arab Nationalist List

The Union of Arab Students in Europe meets the Arab Nationalist List

Brussels- 04/10/2010

A delegation of the UASE composed of Yassine Channouf, Brahim Harchaoui and Ilias Elmouden have met with several leaders of the Arab Nationalist List in the Jordanian capital Amman. During this two-days visit the delegation discussed various issues in the framework of fomenting a unified stance on issues such as Arab integration, emancipation and a joint agenda for liberation. Both sides agreed that the best way to fulfill these goals is to create an organic bond between activists from all Arab countries and the diaspora.

In our view this should lead to an organized Arab movement which will be able to lead to Arab masses from the Maghreb to Iraq towards a better future and the realization of our indispensable goals; liberation, unity and renaissance.

In the margins of this meeting, the prominent Arab nationalist thinker Dr. Ibrahim Alloush shared with us his views on the political and economical situation in our Arab world. Poignant subjects were discussed such as the lack of an Arab Maghreb integration, the Western Sahara conflict, the Yemeni question and the positions of the resistance in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine.

Dr. Alloush was keen on hearing from us what we considered to be the challenges of the Arab diaspora in Europe in the light of increased polarization and the rise of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim prejudice in this continent reflected by the electoral success of right-wing parties. The meeting was concluded with a relaxing dinner in one of Amman's oldest restaurants.
